Northern Pike

Godfather of the Lake Clear fish species, the northern pike is responsible for more stories about the big one that got away than nearly any other fish in our lake. These hard biting brutes are true bandits of the blue, ready to snap the line of the angler that gives them too much slack at the wrong time. Their season opens along with walleye on the third Saturday in May and continues on through the winter. Best fishing is found from opening day through the end of June, with action picking up again in late August and September. Minnows and minnow like artificials are the best bait.
