Thanksgiving Weekend 2009

Thanksgiving marks the end of our camping season and we like to make it a memory that will last through the winter's chill. We fill the weekend with plenty to do and end it with a feast that leaves no one hungry. Here are some scenes from this year's celebration.

A chilly Thanksgiving for 2009. While the weather was sunny there was little warmth in the air. Our hay riders were bundled up like snowmobilers but it did not stop them from enjoying the beautiful fall colours. Unfortunately, we did not get any hay ride pictures this year but we have plenty of other photos to share with you below.

Somehow they even manage to squeeze in dessert!


It takes a lot of work to feed over 130 people at a single setting and we are lucky to have friends to help with the serving. Other folks volunteer to help us put the meal together and this year we really could not have done it without them. Thanks Donna, Bernie, Jessie, James, Tony, Bob, and others who pitched in!

Thanksgiving ends our camping season but for those who like to cottage in the late fall we are still open. Still, Thanksgiving is an ending of sorts and we always experience a feeling of loss on the holiday Monday as our camping guests take their leave until next spring.
