Opeongo Mountain Resort's
Poker Hike 2010
It is a game where you use your feet to earn a good hand. Hiking over 9 km of trails you pick up 7 chits at 7 checkpoints, each worth a card dealt in a game of 7 card, no-peak poker. The best hand wins the bucks. Who says card playing is not an athletic sport?
The Hike
1/2 way through the hike you come to an aid station where cool drinks, first aid and a re-coating of bug juice are available. It is a good spot to check your map to be sure you are on the right trail.
The Kick-A-Poo Joy Juice (carbonated fruit punch) is always a hit with the young hikers and those with a need of an energy hit.
Sometime this strange drink makes people do strange things!

Along the way there are some scenic overlooks to visit.
After you climb up to the top you get to go down to Checkpoint 7 and the last stop on the hike.

The Game
Once everybody is back, accounted for and rested it is time to see who has the luck to go with their endurance.
Cards are dealt and winners move on until only two are left for a showdown to win the grand prize.
However, everybody wins something and everyone has a good time stretching their legs and seeing another side to Opeongo Mountain Resort.
