The Opeongo Open Fishing Derby
Our Derby is three contests in one. The adults compete for cash for the largest bass, pike and walleye caught in Lake Clear while the kids compete for the largest fish of any species. Families or teams compete for a trophy. The idea is to have some fun and help get some kids hooked on fishing.

Santa's Summer Vacation
Each year Santa arrives by a different way. This year Santa decided to come in a Jet Ski courtesy of Carly Rae.

Across the lake in a dash...

...Santa flies along.
|
|
|
|
Santa drifts into the beach.
|
He thanks Carly and says he will consider
her offer to go water sking later.
|
|
|
|
He leads his fans carefully across the street.
|
Once in the shade, he explains why he is here.
|
|
|
|
Everyone gathers around for a visit.
|
The kids line up for their turn with the jolly old guy.
|

|
|
He has treats for everyone
|
And high-fives when requested.
|
|
|
|
Some even bring an early Christmas list.
|
Santa gives it careful consideration.
|
|
|
|
He shares a moment with two brothers
|
and a little princess.
|
|
|
|
He likes to talk with each fan for awhile
|
Sometimes he is surprised by how much they have grown.
|
|
|
|
He even has time for some of his older friends.
|
And there is really no upper age limit to believers.
|
|
|
So many to see that we just don't have room to show them all.
