In addition, miles and miles of fantastic fishing are at your doorstep in the pristine waters of the Centennial and Black Donald reservoir system. Dozens of other lakes, some easily accessible, others more challenging, can be reached by road, ATV or by a modest hike. With all this variety of fishable waters, you can find nearly every species found in eastern Ontario. From the walleye, pike and bass of Centennial Lake to the speckled trout the high mountain lakes, anyone who wants to wet a line can find some action. The fall, is a time for quiet days fishing our many lakes and hunts for partridge, waterfoul, and other small game in the thousands of acres of crown land that lay just beyond the camp. If hunting and fishing are not on your list, try some hikes or ATV tours along one of the many trails that twist around the countryside. The best part about fall is the two weeks of Firearms Season for deer. During the first two full weeks of each November Salmond's becomes a traditional eastern Ontario hunt camp. The kind your grandfather used to tell tall stories about. For more information on our very popular November deer hunts please visit this site: Hunt with Salmond's Camp When winter chills fill the air the land opens up to snowmobiling. Sitting directly on Ontario's extensive network of groomed trails, Salmonds puts countless adventures under your sled. If you don't want to run the trails, slip off onto a side track and try some ice fishing. At the end of the day, come back to camp, toss a couple of logs on the fire and kick back to watch the sun set. |
